Campervan Rental Scotland: My Story

I was planning a holiday and I wanted to get away with my family. So I searched the Internet and found an ad: Campervan Rental Scotland. It sounded interesting. I liked the idea of camping and I have the pickiest kids. Maybe a campervan would make this an easy trip. I started doing some more research.

The first thing I found out was that renting a campervan cost about the same as renting a hotel. That was a big plus. For me, two kids and not having to worry about making it to a hotel in time for check-in would make things a lot easier. Okay, so I could afford a campervan. That was one thing down.

Next, I found that I could actually drive a campervan. I didn’t need any additional license. My class C driver’s license was enough. I talk to people (not sales agents either) and was reassured with power steering and power brakes that I would be able to drive a campervan with no problem. That was good, because I am a pretty small woman.

Then, I went to look at some and found that we would actually fit in one without killing each other. It would sleep all four of us comfortably. I would be able to cook for us, and it had a toilet and a shower. YAY! We would not have to stink. The rental company was able to give me a map of campgrounds where I could hook up every few days and my husband could empty the tanks every few days. (Yes, he emptied them. I am a girly-girl, after all.)

We booked the campervan for two weeks and toured Scotland. We grilled and saw several castles. The kids didn’t kill each other and I had a chance to relax. I must say, the campervan rental was probably one of the better ideas I have had to date.
